Thank-you for taking the time to visit my website.
This site and my business are lovingly dedicated to my late husband and business partner, Jean-Claude "JC" Kergaravat. Without his love, support, and dedication, Berkshire Pet Pals, LLC would not exist. He gave me the courage and strength to follow my dream of working with animals. I could not have done it without him.
I spent over 25 years working in the medical profession in various capacities. I started out as a medical assistant/phlebotomist/lab tech and eventually became a nurse working as a surgical coordinator for an ophthalmology practice. I LOVED working with people, especially the elderly, but found myself unhappy, burned out from working a lot of long hours, and frustrated with nothing to show for it at the end of the day.
After a lot of research and soul-searching, I decided that I wanted to go back to my original "dream" of working with animals.
In 1999, I started a part-time online pet retail site where I sold pet supplies and handcrafted pet items. I was doing occasional pet sitting/dog walking on the weekends and as needed for friends and family. It was more of a hobby than anything else at that point.
By 2009, I revised my business plan and decided to focus on the service aspect of the business. I took every workshop and class I could find and became a certified professional pet sitter and certified Pet Tech instructor.
By 2010, Berkshire Pet Pals, LLC was born. With my husband's help, we took a leap of faith to work together on something we both believed in and it worked!
I love working with animals and share my home with 11 cats, 5 dogs, and a bunny.
